Design Process

Initial Contact

This will be the first time you contact us. That will be by using either the quote or contact form. Please give as much detail about what you want and need in your new site, being as detailed as you possibly can.

The Estimate

Once we’ve looked over the information you’ve sent you’ll receive a response with either further questions or an estimated cost for the project. If the initial contact was via the contact form we may send you a web site questionnaire to gather more details on your needs, such as who your target audience is, what style, feel and look you want for your site, what colors you want to use..etc.

The Contract

After the project details and estimate have been agreed upon we will send you a contract by email. This needs to be looked over, signed and returned with the required retainer fee ( stated in the contract )

At this point you’ll need to gather all material for your web site – page content, images, logo. You’ll need to purchase your domain name and hosting if you haven’t already.

Design Starts

Once I’ve received the contract, retainer and at least a majority of the site material I'll start development of design mockups. These will be based on the info you’ve given in the initial contact, quote form and/or questionnaire. When completed I’ll either post the screenshots online or email them to you for your comments and approval.

From here we start revisions (total of 3) on the chosen mockup to get a design you are completely satisfied with.

Development

Once you’ve approved a design mockup the development of you site will begin. This is when the template will be coded, databases set up and content entered.

Quality Assurance

After development is finished your site will be uploaded and tested. It will be checked with different browsers , operating systems and resolutions. You’ll have a chance to test drive your site at this time, noting any necessary adjustments that need to be made, and an invoice for the outstanding balance will be sent.

Training

If your site will be using any programs – shopping cart, CMS – you’ll be given training on how to use it to maintain your site.

Launch

Once you’ve tested your site and have given your approval on the completed product, and the balance has been paid, it will be made public. You have 30 days of free technical support so make sure you test *everything* out in that time frame.

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or comments about my design process.
